Café Mamia was established on May 8, 2008, 6 years after the main restaurant , Mamia’s Bar and Restaurant was opened.

It was originally located at the Perdices Ancestral house, Rizal Boulevard, Dumaguete City.

It is owned by a husband and wife team, Agustin Miguel A. Perdices and Lizza V. Perdices. Both hailed from Manila and had backgrounds on restaurant operations before they moved to Dumaguete and ventured on a restaurant business.

Café Mamia was opened to cater to students and employees and the growing market of coffee drinkers . It initially offered different hot and cold coffee concoctions, sandwiches, pastas, cakes and pastries, all-day breakfasts and shakes at very affordable prices.

On November 18, 2012, it transferred to its present location which is at Perdices Residence no. 14 San Jose St. corner Sta. Catalina St., Dumaguete City. It has continued to be a hang-out for students, locals and tourists.
